Weekend was a huge mix of ups and downs. My sister (who is just AWESOME!) won tickets on the radio to see Journey Sunday night. She had to work, so she gave them to me. Actually, she had the radio station FedEx them to me. I was so excited, I haven't been to a concert in forever, and was really looking forward to it. Well, it apparently wasn't to be. FedEx came on Thursday while I was at my Dr's appointment, and left the tag on the door. I called the tracking number, and they said they would deliver again on Friday. I waited here all day Friday, and FedEx never showed up. I called again, and they said they would redeliver Monday. The day after the concert. They wouldn't let me pick up the tickets at their depot, because they were in my sister's name and you need to show ID to get them. So no Journey concert for me. :(

Friday night I stayed at Chuck's. It was OK. Donna never showed up, so Chuck was kind of buummed.

Saturday was Barb's BBQ. What a GREAT time! It was small, just Barb and her husband, another couple, and Chuck and myself. The other couple was very nice, and I can't wait to talk to Jennifer again, we had a lot in common and really seemed to hit it off.

There was one weird incident at the BBQ, though. Now, I've known Barb for a long time, but I've only met her husband Mick a handful of times. Maybe 6 altogether. So Jen, Mick and myself are sitting on the back deck talking. Jen apparantly has Epilepsy, and was talking about the problems she's had with finding the right medication. A lot of BiPolar and Epilepsy meds are the same, so I was able to relate to her completely. I told her this, and started to go through some of the bad meds experiences I've had over the last year. Mick looked at me and said "you're not BiPolar, you don't need to be on any of those medicines!" I'm sorry, WHAT??? I've met you half a dozen times, and you cut down trees for a living. What can you POSSIBLY know about my mental health? I truly didn't know how to respond. I'll admit, I had a decent buzz going at this point, been drinking beer for a few hours. I had my wits about me enough, though, to realize that there was no way I could respond to this without it coming to a confrontation, and I really didn't want that. Jen and I just kind of looked at each other, and continued our conversation as though he hadn't said anything. He pushed the issue once more that evening, but again, I ignored him.

Sunday we went to watch Kill Bill Vol. 2. I had rented it Tuesday, but we didn't have a chance to watch it until then. When we opened the box, the wrong movie was in it! We went back to the video store, but the guy working there couldn't find it, so we took King Arthur instead. Not bad. A different take on the King Arthur story. Very different than any I've ever heard or read before, but given the time period, probably the most historically probable.

I finished the last lap blanket I crocheted, and went to AC Moore yesterday to get more yarn for a new one. This one's actually for me for a change. Red and blue, for my bed. Pics of my latest finished creations to follow, as soon as I get the film out to be developed. (I don't have a digital camera.)

Shrink appointment this afternoon. Whee.
